Default Glock Model Advice Needed *

Thinking about picking up a new Glock. What's the most powerful and concealable? If you say the 10 mm, is it better overall than than .45 ACP "21"?

I'd say the 10mm far exceeds the .45 ACP. If you look into a Glock 29 it would be pretty concealable...

Thanks Jordan, I'll check them both out. I was going to pick up the "21" until I started thinking about more power, and maybe more concealable. The "21" may not be much different than my 1911 A1 (the same more or less?). Now just need to check with local shop/s to find out what "flies" in the state I live in, and see if any restrictions.

What state do you live in?

Also, If you purchase a full size 10mm(Glock 20) you can put a Glock 21 slide on it and shoot .45. You can also buy conversion barrels for .40S&W, .357Sig, 9x25 dillion.

That's a lot of great info; thanks. I've never "altered" a gun, but may take your advice, and would have a local gunsmith do the work.

California. I had a gun shipped recently from a dealer in Florida, only to find it had some kind of roster restriction.

Not sure on the restrictions in Cali.

But, it isn't really altering the gun. All the conversion barrels are just drop-ins. You just take off the slide, pull out the factory barrel and place conversion barrel in.

To put the glock 21 slide on a glock 20 frame you just remove slide and place new one on. Super easy, you can't mess it up.

If you have any other questions or anything feel free to ask. I have a G20 and would be happy to help.

You've given me some excellent advice; thanks a lot, and will let you know of any additional needed. After I make the decision, then have to go through the 30 day wait in Cal before taking possession. If I get the one you mention, I may even give it "a shot" trying to swap the slide myself.

Your G20 sounds cool. Will keep you updated.

Hey Jordan,
I got a G30 SF. After checking it out at a shop, and pre-outfitting it with a grip extension, it felt just right for what I preferred/considered.
I checked out the G21 and a couple others, that are similar in size and/or weight. (I have a couple full-size 1911 A1's - about the size of the G21, except for the big 21 slide, but I think they're heavier than Glocks.) So, for a first Glock, I decided to go for the compact & concealable 30. The 21 is excellent too (with that wicked slide), and it was a tough choice, but as my dealer says; "A lot of guys have a bunch of different Glocks." Good sales pitch and I may get one eventually, or maybe go with your recommendation of the of the G20 with the 21 slide.
Now I have a 30 day waiting period.
Will let you know how it goes after picking it up.
Later.
