So this came up in another thread, and it's come up several times, so I decided to call the US "Assembly" plant in Ga today and find out first hand.

I talked to Darrell(Darryl) who was in tech support and asked specifically if there was a problem removing ANY Glock pistol from the shipping box and feeding it either +P or +P+ ammo.

His response:

Next I asked if they recommend upgrading any components like a recoil spring for someone that might want to carry these rounds exclusively and practice with them at a rate of two range trips a month.

Then I asked him if there was damage to the weapon and a customer sent it back with full disclosure that they had indeed been shooting +P and/or +P+ ammo in it, would this void the warranty or otherwise affect the level of service they received. This answer was a little less definite.

"So, Glock may question if the end user was handloading and this caused the problem?"

So, there you have it folks. Right from Tech Support in Georgia. You can shoot the hot stuff through your Glocks, but make sure and change your recoil springs frequently and have your data books up to date with the ammo you used just in case.

+1 for Glock on this issue.

JD
I stand corrected. (On the +p,+p+ issue)

More like the girls hanging around at closing time. If you squint through the beer goggles they look fine.

Sorry, Practical, reliable, durable, I'll accept. Pretty? No.

13 pages of grown men arguing about who loves glocks and who hates glocks. I like fords, always had good luck with fords so that is where my loyalty is. Can we all agree everyone has their favorite gun and nothing will sway them. I have had good luck with glocks but also have had good luck with a taurus.

Who the hell said I love Glocks. Hey Ruger_NUT give these guys some links to show them how much I love glocks. Glock is not my favorite gun, Far from it. I really like my Gp100 .357 thats a reliable gun. My favorite gun is my J.P. Sauer 16 ga SBS. Pre WWII model. best damn gun I have ever had. next up to that is my Colt 1911 WWII service gun that I inherited. I really the Berretta M1A1 9mm., The DE .44 is one of my favorites. Its never jammed and i can blow a hole in 3/8" steel without much of a problem. I like the Barret .50, If you can shoot a target from 1.5 miles away it is gtear by me.
Glock is not a favorite gun of mine. I just own 2 of them. I have poited out during the coarse of this thread that they are not great guns. and to everyone that is so ignorant to think that "all these military style guns", whatever. Get a clue. these gun did not start out as miliraty guns the military just uses them like the Berrettas in the 90's they were not Military guns, they were for civilian use and the militray just founs that of the order 60,000 of them they could get each one for under $100, just like Glock and Colt and springers and everything else.
Get a damn clue.

13 pages only scratches the surface of this important debate and incredibly important thread.

I will wait until page 1252 before I post.

Here's that one pic of you and your Glock you sent me and told me to delete it after I looked at it.

From a NYC LEO, I can tell you that I hate my Glock because of the 12.5 lb trigger pull we have to have. Never been able to try out a civilian Glock. Having said that, i've never had a problem with it.
