Just adding to what everyone else said. No handgun slide is supposed to auto release when a mag is inserted.

Ok Thanks guys, Guess its a common thing to all the ones Ive handled. I do stand corrected I rechecked my model 21 and it doesnt do it. So i guess none of the ones I have now do. I have handled a few in the past like the 17 I owned last week. I guess those ones had issues.

Starting to think I should have just stuck to my xd's and 1911's .. Atleast i got the new ones at a good price

I believe you'll find the Mauser HSc, (and a few other, older Mauser pistols) were designed to do just that.

I stand corrected, let me rephrase that. No common, modern handgun of today is supposed to do that.
