Default Glock Ammo

Glock went from the Glock 29 - 10 mm Auto to the Glock 30 .45 ACP, what is the difference between the sizes of these two ammo types?

Default Difference

.45 acp needs no introduction. Standard load 230 gr fmj @800-850 fps. "Defensive " ammo 180-200 gr JHP @ 950-1000 fps. Big, fat and slow.

10mm FBI "Lite" load 180 gr jhp @ 950-1000 fps. Hotter loads include 135 gr jhp @ 1500+ fps to 180 gr hp @ 1300 (Pro Load).

The FBI load designed to replicate the .45. The most sincere form of flattery?

Hotter loads put the 10 in the range of a .41 mag. They are rough on both the gun and the shooter but even rougher on the recipient.

.45 is more commonly available but the 10 has serious CDI points.

I think you'll find the Glock to be very controlable and accurate. If you can handle full loads in your .357 Mag you'll have no problem with a Glock in 357 Sig, 40 S&W or 45. I've never shot a 10MM but I'd imagine recoil is pretty stout. I use Double Tap ammo in my Model 32 and it's hot stuff and expensive but great ammo. Very powerful stuff!
