And if it was any other company than Glock that did this it would get panned big time. But yet people are tripping over each other to buy one. Go figure...... Don't get me wrong, I'm a Glock fan, but my carry gun is smaller than the G42 and a 9mm to boot. So, I can only ask, "WTF"?

agreed! there are makers out there that know what they are doing with that round, Bersa comes to mind as well as CZ and others

there is no way the lego version of the .380 will out perform a Bersa Thunder....bank on it

Buds is taking preorders for the Glock 42 at $424 each. Since Glock sets the retail price for their pistols $424 will be the best price for the Glock 42.

Look at the 380 Glocks in the world already, what niche do they fill?

I am smart enough to see what is going on, and I would hope others can see it also.
My understanding is that the .380 Glocks already in production were designed for markets where civilians were prohibited from possessing firearms in military calibers. The G42 seems unnecessarily redundant to me.

I like Glocks but if I were to carry something that small I'd rather have a Bersa Thunder .380+ or, preferably, the Kahr P45 I used to have.

If the g42 was a 9mm I would def get one. But my fiancé likes the 380. So I might surprise her.

We just found a niche for the Glock.

I checked out the G42 at SHOT and found it to be very Glockish, if not a smaller version of what they already sell. I did not get the chance to shoot it though. Meh. I will pass but I don't think its a bad gun. More choices=good!

Love It! But the new Parkerized Mustang XSP is even better and they are making( Someone is!) ext. 8 rd. Ext. Mags with a rubberized butt plate...it's a great BUG for it's size in any Set up. If I were carrying a Larger Auto or revolver in a shoulder rig, the Mustang would ride in my right side Rear/Kidney position.

The 42 missed the mark!! Not small enough to compete with the bugs in the field and way to expensive for a 380,!! Glock will sell its fair share, on the name alone! But 599??? Maybe that's a bloated price because I assume they will be rare to find, at least initially!! I'm not seeing a super success on an underpowered, over sized, limited capacity, over priced handgun! Just nothing that stands out enough to scream "buy me" I would much rather carry the slightly bigger 26 or 27, more of everything except the price!
The Glock junkies, that own everything Glock makes will buy one!! A few women that buy into the myth that they can't handle anything more than a 380 will purchase! But not the large majority of the main stream gun world! Just not enough "Wow"!! I love Glock, own the 30 and 19! But they whiffed at the 42!!
