The xd sc .40 is still a very heavy gun. Had one didnt like how heavy it was for such a small amount of ammo in it. got the glock and its much nicer to carry

The Glock safety feature does great for experienced gun handlers. Most of us in this forum are experienced enough to know to keep our finger away from the trigger. Even if the finger slips on to the trigger, the takeup on the Glock trigger is enough to where it would take real intent to get an accidental discharge.

I agree that the XD's ergonomics are a little better. Both pistols are very good and very reliable for self- and home- defense situations. I have both, and the XD has a slight edge because of the ergo....but that's it.

Now for the inexperienced handler....the XD DOES have more safety features. Something very much to consider if one is new to handguns.

i have the glock 27 and i love it!!! it is really accurate. last weekend i shot a prairie dog at 35 yards one shot. its also perfect for a concealed weapon i also carry from time to time and it sits in my blackhawk holster and its impossible to see!! the glock 27 has very little recoil also. go with the 27 you'll LOVE it!glock-27.jpg

Stuffing a pistol on your pan ts. Ask Plexico Burris about that.

Anyway...Betwen a Glock and an XD I'll take the Springer every time. And I don't like striker fired pistols. I've had them both and I just see the XDs as a better of the two. And it made me appreciate my hammer fired weapons much more. I carry around any of a few 1911's or a Sig Sauer 229. What ever you get you will want a good belt and holster. The more you carry the more you will appreciate them. With the right rig you wont hardly know it's there and no one else will unless you want them to.

I had the XD40SC and it just didn't feel good in my hand, so I sold it and bought a G27, which was my first of many more to come of Glocks. Not that I'm not an XD fan, as I owned and still own an XD45 before the XD40SC was bought. I liked my XD45 so much, that was exactly the reason that I went for the XD40SC as soon as I got my CCL. As for the G27, it feels great in my hand and I like it alot(hence my username ). A benefit with the G27, is that you can always get a .357 Sig conversion barrel for it.
