I have a 27 I bought for carrying in light clothes during summer months. My next will be a Gen 4 23...I really like the 23 as an all around gun.

My guess is the 27 is going to be a much better choice for you. I would test it out. Even the bigger stores will let you get a feel for a firearm and they usually have a holster or two handy. I would guess you will print the 23.

I'm actually leaning heavily toward getting the G27 for just that reason. Now, New Year's Resolution: Find the funds to buy one.

No. With the proper holster, he wouldn't.
I've got a buddy his size that carries a ruger p90. And that's one chunky ass pistol.
Sometimes I carry a 5" 1911 or a G20.

What holster? I'm 5'11" 225 and I can't carry a full-size IWB or OWB without printing in warm weather. I wish I could. It sucks waiting for jacket/coat season to carry something full-size.

I would vote for the g23 as well. I had a sub-compact for years and it didnt bother me at first but after a while its like my hands grew too big if that makes any sense. Anyway, after holding the compact like the g23, i fell in love, its like the perfect size for me plus its still conceal friendly.

I like my 27 for two reasons. I got a crazy deal on it and I have a conversion barrel for it so I can run 9mm. Total package was around $400 with Bianchi IWB and mags for 40 and 9.
