Glock 23

My buddy is considering on getting a g 23. Either gen 3 or 4. Any opinions?

I'd get the Gen 4, in fact I did. Nothing wrong with the Gen 3 but the Gen 4's multiple grip backstraps and other features are worth the slight cost increase especially since you get 3 instead of 2 magazines in the red label box. Either way the G23 is a great gun, the right size for many of us and 40S&W is great caliber. 9mm is cheaper to shoot but then you can get a 40-9 conversion barrel for about $100, add 9mm magazines and have both calibers.

Oh and I took him to a local gun store to check out a 23. And I had to show the guy behind the counter how to take the glock apart. Kinda funny I thought

Did this with my gen 3 23, I think a g23 is the way to go best of both worlds.... I have had not one problem.

I just got my G23 Gen 4 2 days ago and I must say that I'm already a believer. I tried to stay away from glock because I said they were ugly and everybody had glocks. I have a Taurus PT740, a Ruger SR40c and just recently a G23 Gen4 and it's already my favorite gun to shoot.

Glocks perform. Cleans easily. You can get different barrels unless you get the G19. Then, your limited to 9mm. G23 is a great choice. I have the G32 carried as a .40. Outdoors/wilderness it goes back to .357 sig.

Glocks are one of the easiest guns to dismantle. The guy behind the counter should find another source of work.

I picked up used gen2 mod23. After being a "wheel guy for 35yrs" my first "real auto" is a bit of a culture shock. I am very very happy and am going to pick up a nine-mil bbl asap, just for the price of ammo.:)
