Have the 23 - love it. Conceals well, but a shorter handle would conceal better under a thinner sweater. Shoot equally well (or poorly - depending on your point of view) with both. For primary self defense, both carrying and home, I prefer to use the same caliber. In the heat of the moment I don't want to have to check to see if I picked up a 9 or a 40 reload. Also, all reload mags in the house are G22 mags so they will fit all sizes. Just my preference, though...

I prefer the way my 23 fits my hand over my sons 27. The problem with the 27 is lots of people seem to put a extension on the clip to improve it feel and now it about the size of a 23.
