Lower the recoil on a G22? You're looking for faster follow up shots? Shooting steel challenge?
My suggestions would be get a Wolff solid guide rod, then get their ISMI springs in 13, 15, and 17lb. Get the competition kit which includes a heavier striker spring, and a lighter safety plunger spring. You can also polish the top of the safety plunger and the tip of the trigger bar where they engage. Other than that, I've tried the ZEV 2.5lb connector and virtually no difference compared to the stock 3.5lb (or minus) connector. The OEM 5lb connector is just fine. Lightening the trigger pull is more for accuracy than taming recoil.
A tighter, higher grip, both thumbs forward, and ease the trigger back to the reset instead of letting it fly forward after each shot will also help you manage the recoil and be more accurate.
