Can you convert a glock 20 10mm to shoot .40 cal ammo? i have heard you put a .40 cal barrel in it (drop in) and shoot .40 cal ammo true or false is this safe will damage the pistol? any info helpful.

Dropping in a barrell might work but would 40 ammo cycle in a mag designed for 10mm? I am not a pro on Glock so I may be way off base here.

I guess you could make it work if you REALLY wanted it to make a point out of it,.... but I think there is a reason why GLOCK sells the model 20 (10mm) and the model 22(.40 S&W). Otherwise they would just sell the 20 and and conversion kit,.....

I have a g23...you can shoot 40cal...or change the barrel to shoot .357sig and use the same mags or you can swap barrels and shoot 9mm ammo just change mags to 9mm mags..

I have a g20 and I have a 40s+w barrel for it. It works fine. Remember most parts ,including slide springs, in Glocks are universally interchangable between calibers and frame sizes. Extractor placement in the frame is different for certain calibers. The 10mm and the 40 have the same head, the 40 is a 10 short for all practicle purposes.

Let me get this straight : All you did was to drop in a .40SW barrel in your GLOCK 20, and you could shoot .40S&W ??

What about Mags/Extractor/etc. ....???

I use the 10mm mags. The extractor is the same, 10mm is just a long 40.

One of the reasons I picked up a G27 instead of a G26 was because with a barrel conversion and a 9mm mag you end up with two guns for the price of one. I can use my stock piled 9mm ammo if I run out of 40 in a pinch.
