I've got a Glock 21 (same gun in .45ACP). I think it's a great home defense choice and not bad for open carry. I've even CC'd it a time or two in the winter under heavy cloths. Probably not the best choice for CC in hot climates, though!

The only real drawback I see to it is that 10mm ammo can be harder to find and more expensive than other choices. Full power loads also kick a bit more although this can be overcome by practice and training. A lot of people love the 10mm.
