10mm is .40 cal. The bullets are the same.

ergo: you already have a 40 cal barrel in the g20.

The case differs but why would you want to go through this gyration?

If it's to save money on ammo, why didn't you buy the g22?

I've heard that the G20 can shoot 40S&W, 357SIG, and even the 9x25 Dillon just by switching out barrels. You can use the same magazines. Makes for a versatile gun for people that don't want to spend a lot of money on other pistols. As for me, I'd rather have more pistols

Actually, if we want to get down to brass tacks....

G22's have a 10mm barrel in them, since 10mm auto was brought to us in 1983 and .40 Short and Weak came about in 1990. ANd even though its design was brought by Smith and Wesson, Glock was the first .40 S&W cal gun sold to the public.

.40 was first called the 10mm Wildcat.

All history aside, if you want .40, buy a G22 like the man said.

hey hey, the .40 is a good round.

I've read this same thread a thousand times and it always ends the same. I'll save you the trouble.

Save your money and buy a 22/23/27 if you want a .40. After you buy the barrel and the mags you might as well have bought an entire gun.

DefaultGlock 29(10mm)

Love the G20. THe G29 will be my baby soon. I can't wait to get it! Should i replace the recoil spring immediately? I've heard the recoil is brutal and i don't want to break my gun. Are there other parts on the G29 that are at risk due to the power of high pressure rounds? Thank you for any advice/discussion on the G29.

Is it new? Recoil spring assemblies should last at least 3000 to 5000 rounds.
