glock 19 magazine
Is it OK to leave your magazine loaded for long periods of time?
|
Yes.......
|
Yes its fine. Constantly working the spring is what wears it out.

Thanks for your response.

You're welcome. Here to help.

There was some company, can't remember who, a gun maker or magazine maker, who did a long term test. Had left a mag loaded for something like 30-50 years. Functioned flawlessly. Wish I could give you details...

Mag not clip ;)

spring set can occure on lighter springs commonly found in high cap mags, its less likely to occure in heavier gauge springs found in 7 and 8 round mags found in 1911s though, read about it if you would like at www.gunsprings.com/faq

i keep my mags loaded but i also have mags that are new in the box that i do not use at all.but i do rotated the mags i use for range and selfdefense

After my dad passed I found a 1911 mag that I had personally loaded 12 years earlier, still sitting on the shelf where I'd placed it. Slapped in my colt and it worked just fine.
