If your set on a gen4 then get a gen 4, otherwise you will settle for a gen3 and not be happy. At least that's how I am with things I buy.

I just got a used G19 gen 3 (early model) and replaced the recoil spring already. Since I don't know how may times this gun has been fired, should there be any hurry to replace the firing pin (& spring)?

Not trying to go in new direction but I was told don't replace or even take the gun apart aleast until 1000 rounds have been shoot through the gun

Just hear say but from a person I trust told me had to do with marriage of something put on the slide maybe it's gen 4 I was told it when I bought my g23 gen4 wondering of someone else heard rhis

Sounds like another urban legend. I always disassemble and clean every gun I buy before taking it to the range new or used.

When a LEO is issued a weapon (and most these days seem to be Glocks) one of the first steps in the qualification course is familiarization with function and learning how to clean it. Some LEO's going through these classes have tons of experience and some have never shot a handgun in their lives. Everything has to be covered for those with zero experience for liability issues.
