Good choice with the G19. I just purchased a G19 for target and concealed carry and I love it! Its the perfect size in my opinion. Great for on duty carry or off duty concealment. U will not regret your decision, I assure that.

But on the other hand the 19 can be used for duty use and cc. Basically its prefrence on round count and even then you can just get g17 spare mags and there you go. Either 1 would be fine you can conceal both. Basically its up to you.
What do u need mines for? LOL

G17 is 17 rds
G19 is 15 rds

However, you can use the G17 mags in the 19 if you desire..... I use to carry a G19 for duty and spare mags would be the G17 mags.

That's the ideal way to go, the G17 mags aren't much longer than G19s.

Cool, are there mag sleeves available for the 17 mags so they "flush out" with the 19 frame?

Tack

I think there are but I haven't looked into it. Google should turn something up.

I did buy mag sleeves for G19/G23 mags in the G26/27. They really work great on those subcompacts.

I've heard the Gen 4's have some issues and should save $50 diff and go with a Gen 3. Any reason to pay more for a Gen 4 other than the "latest thing" factor?

Any issues with the gen 4 have definitely been taken care of. I have a gen 4 model 17 with over 5 thousand rounds through it and have not had a single problem. I like the grip texture, larger mag release, interchangeable backstraps, and dual action recoil spring on gen 4 models...so in my opinion the gen 4 is the way to go.
