Default Glock 17L or Glock 34

Hi,
After reading what all of you had to say about guns I am getting a Glock. I am down to two of them. The Glock 17L and the Glock 34.
The 17L is $800
Glock 34 is $600
I found out that the 17L is not made anymore. Why----was there problems? I saw a 32 round clip for the glock, Thats is great for me.

I bought a G34 about a year ago. I just shoot. I don't carry it. I wanted something that would allow me to be more accurate than a shortened version Glock. I suppose if I shot a lot I could be accurate with just about anything.

17L---6" barrel, longer sighting radius, non-finger grooved grip?

34----5.3" barrel. Probably a 3rd gen gun, finger groove grip. Comes with
so-so adjustable sights and 3.5 lb connector. If you are considering using it
for competition, the 34 is legal in USPSA Production division, the 17L is
not.

Personally I like the plain old 17. My Production gun is a 2nd gen 17, Sevigny
competition sights, trigger job and A-grip. Something about the old non
finger grooved grips just fits. Get whichever one YOU want.

I like the 27 myself, compact .40 cal
But the 9mm is cheaper to shoot,
and if you want a 32 round mag the 9mm round is the way to go.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw an article about Glock doing a limited run of new 17L's.

Default Glock 34

I purchased a Glock 34 6 mos ago. It is a very accurate gun right out of the box.

I am old timer, had not shot for a good while, but after a few "get use to the gun shots", I was able to group 15 rounds in a 3 inch group at 25 yards. I coverd up all shots with a Visa credit card.

My back gound....I was a small arms drill instructor at The US Naval Academy back in 1974. Plus, Navy shooting team.

Default G34

I went from a 17 to a 34 for my IDPA gun. I was doing fine with the 17, but wanted to get serious.

I swapped out my lonewolf transfer bar and trigger housing from the 17, into the 34. Even though the difference was slight. Warren tactical Sevigny fiber front and plain black rear.

The price diff between the 17l and 34 could be better spent on extra mags or other accessories.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?
