Default Glock 17 or a Glock 34

Hi all I want to get another Glock just for range use. I need some advice. I can't deside between the 17 or the 34. And if the 34 is worth the extra money. Thanks for you help in advance.

I have both. Haven't shot the 17 yet, but I love the 34. Strictly a range/plate shooting pistol. I'm very impressed with it. I personally would say yes.

I am personally partial to long sight radii, long barrels, and generally muzzle-heavy guns, so I got the G17L actually. I also daily carry it. The long barrel gives me a good 100+ FPS over the standard G17, or more importantly it allows me to get the same velocities with less powder and thus less muzzle flash and noise. Carry is no different than a G17, except the slide goes an extra inch and a half down my leg heh.

But yeah for target shooting I see no reason to compromise in size. Though I wouldn't substitute that for defensive practice if your primary carry is a subcompact!
