Very wise choice. You'll get years of satisfaction out of that weapon.

Okay, I finally went by my LGS to picked up both guns again and laid them side by side. I tell you the 17 fits my hand like a glove, the 19 feels alright but middle finger feels like it might get a blister from the trigger guard. Anyone ever have a problem with this?

I picked up the 19 last week. The trigger gaurd gives me the same feeling and my hands are not large either. I put 50rds through it and had no problems with rubbing or blisters. I'm going to try the medium backstrap next trip too. It was a pleasure to shoot, accuracy was good too.

Yep. I got that w/the mid size backstrap. Put the small one on & added Hogue grip. Problem solved. And I can't stand all polymer grips anyway so the rubber is perfect for me.

The 19's grip feels a lot thicker to me I would go with the 17 feels a lot better but I haven't shot either

I carry the gen 4 g19. My hands are huge so I added a beaver tail to it to solve glock bite. It still conceals great. To explain accuracy, I made a happy face and my girlfriend added to the smile so it works great.

I had this same question not too long ago as one was going to be my next gun. I decided on the 19. I suggest going to one of your local gun stores and hold both. See which you like better. They're really going to shoot the same. For me the 19 just fit my hand better.

If I were you I would go with the gen3...I hear too many horror stories about the 9mm gen4's having terrible ejection issues...Maybe they fixed it but I still hear the stories to this day.

This is just speaking of mine that I got a month ago so I'm not speaking of ALL gen 4's g19. I have not had any of the problems that other people have been having. Mine shoots every time and no malfunctions. It ejects perfect, thus far, and puts the empties in a nice pile. No weak ejects. No left ejects. No stove pipes.

Maybe I got a good one but it's on my hip everyday and I trust it. I did some mag dumps with it and it was flawless. I will say the problems are fixed but that is speaking of mine alone.

In the end, still a choice of will you trust it.
