The last time you detail stripped the pistol you may have put the pins back in incorrect to make this problem appear. The first to remove and always first to reinsert is the firing block pin, and then install and be sure the slide stop lever is hooked on the groove of the trigger pin. Wouldn't mess with bending the slide stop "spring", if in any doubt replace it...
