What's so great about the Ruger 1911?

Why not go for a fully loaded 1911 by Springfield Armory or something?

I like ruger and there's only about an $80 difference between the two. Never had a Springfield but I have a lot of Rugers and after thousands upon thousands of rounds through them, I've yet to have the first issue so I'm guessing that their 1911 will be much the same.
I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.

I'm probably going to get my first gun next weekend. I have shot a g22 before, but I will probably buy a g23 because its smaller and in hopes that if a cc law, this pistol will be the perfect size for that.
