Default Conversion Barrels

I need some help on this. I own 9mm conversion barrels. I don't use them very often but I've been hearing that it's necessary to change out the extractor on my Glock 23 to prevent any damage to my firearm. Can this happen with moderate use?

I shot my glock 23 with my storm lake 9mm conversion barrel. I must say, it operated flawlessly. I put about 250 rounds.

The difference between the 9mm rim and the .40 rim are very small. Glock and S&W (Sigma and M&P) design their 9mm/357 Sig/.40 extractors so one part works on all. It saves them money because they have to make and stock fewer different parts.
