for some reason the compacts are usually more expensive than the full size 1911's. don;t know why, just are. MSRP on my SA was $1375, i paid $1200 for it NIB. most iever spent on any pistol, but i love it enough i would do it over again.

It's true, nothing wrong to have 1911 bug. As i said, maybe i will get the bug, maybe i won't. After knowing the price range, it melted my mind. I still have a few handguns i want to get. For one 1911 i can buy 2 from my list. I only love compact or sub compact models and 9mm or .40sw. But i admit, 1911 has a legendary undefeated to others, salute to it.

All my 1911s are Colt but SA has a good rep and I have been abusing a XDM for years. The best part of a 1911 is its ability to be modified for quite a variety of disiplines.

My best advice is to buy exactly what you want right out of the box.

You would be selling youself short if you didnt own different manufacturers. I used to think like that but, i realized, there are many different awesome guns out. I only have Glocks right now but that will change; got my eyes on M&P .45 OR .40 compact.
