Has anyone tried shooting 9 mm Browning Long ammo in a Glock?

The rim might fit, but that .046" longer case would probably be a problem.
I doubt that it would go completely into battery. If you had a Glock in
9x21 the extractor would likely hold it tight enough to fire.
Where are you going to get any 9mm Browning Long ammo? I've never
seen any.

I've bought quite a bit of ammo from Century International Arms, in the past.
They have good prices and reasonable shipping costs. There ammo is good.
I finally bought a 9mm, and I haven't reloaded any ammo, yet. I thought a bulk buy on ammo would be a good idea, but I don't want to buy 1000 rounds if they won't shoot!

I've been buying Winchester ammo at Wal-Mart for about $17/100 after taxes.

That's a pretty good price! I'm tempted to buy a case, and chamber
a spare barrel for one of my G17's deeper for the Browning Long cartridge.

Not sure if that extra .012" of rim diameter would be a problem. Guess I
need to do a little measuring before I jump on the idea.

The head spacing could be an issue, as the case is .006 is shorter than the 9x19.

The OAL is .069 longer than the 9x19. edit: My reloading data shows 9x19 OAL ranging from 1.010" to 1.120".

I'm going to the local gun shop & see what they think.

Your Glock is chambered in 9x19mm. I'd suggest sticking with the ammo that the pistol was designed to fire, especially because it's a Glock. Glocks tend to become bombs when exposed to anything over their SAAMI speced chamber pressures.

Glock 9x19 pistols have been factory chambered in 9x21 for the Italian and
other markets that forbid 9x19.

OK--now I'm confused. According to the link that YOU provided, the 9mm
Browning Long is:

.046" longer case
.012" larger rim
.007" smaller case base
.004" smaller neck
.059" shorter OAL

compared to the 9x19. The first two----case length and rim diameter,
are what would possibly prevent the 9mm Browning Long firing in a 9x19
gun.

The "Long" case length is .800"
The difference is only .006"

I agree with the rim difference.

Also, I've been buying Winchester ammo at Wal-Mart for about $17/100 after taxes. The price difference is only about $2/100. The Wal-Mart price went up about 3 weeks ago in Ohio. I plan on buying a few boxes, before the prices go up in Texas. (Unless they already have.)
