Default .45 G.A.P. what happened?

Why didn't the GAP cartridge take off?

From the sale pitch it sounds like a great round. Power of a .45 acp in the size of 9mm. Is that correct?

Was it just a matter of no need for a new round or to expensive?

It was the answer to a question that was never asked.

Glass nailed it.

The 45GAP gives you a little smaller gun but no other advantages over the 45ACP. If you're gonna downsize why not go to the 40S&W and get a lot more capacity? GAP is expensive and not on all the shelves while ACP and 40S&W are pretty cheap and everywhere.

Nothing really wrong with the 45GAP but many of us don't see the need for buying another "oddball". I've got enough already!

The advantage is for those with smaller hands, typically women. My wife shot the ACP one time, she said it was just to big. She loves shooting her GAP.

I agree with chief. It's a viable alternative to those who want the power of the .45 ACP, but have smaller hands so something like a full size 1911 or Glock 21 would be to big for them to handle well. The biggest flaw I see with the .45 GAP is that it only offers more concealability and easier use for those with smaller hands. It's disadvantages are it doesn't offer more magazine capacity, is hard to find, expensive, and would require those who shoot it to reload it (another round to buy stuff for to load it). If the .45 GAP was offered in a single stack compact or sub compact Glock I think it would make a decent back up to something like a Glock 21 or 30.

Glock 37 - Full size
Glock 38 - Compact
Glock 39 - Sub-Compact

Wife wanted a 39 so I got a 37 seeings I was going to be stocking ammo anyways, and like I stated in my first post, I love it I'm going to turn some heads on this on but I prefer it over my ACP (and I do not have small hands)

Chief, make you sure you put down your vote in the "One Glock to Rule them All" thread. Right now GAP has no votes.
