I am going to buy either a Glock 19 or a Glock 32 and was wondering how much ammo for the .357 was and if it was easily available. I have been told that it is more expensive and is much harder to get then the 9mm so that may be the deciding factor. Any info? |

It is definitely more expensive but I've never had a hard time finding it. The chain stores may not have it but every gun shop I've visited had some.
Check out this site and you'll get an idea of price difference. I buy bulk "range" ammo when I find it.

The 357 SIG is a much better self defense round than the 9MM. I'm not a 9MM hater but facts are facts. __________________ "An unarmed man can only flee from evil, but evil is not overcome by fleeing from it"

I have a G31 and its a great round. The .357sig is a 9mm with anger management problems. Im not a 9mm fan but i really like the .357sig. The ammo is a little more expensive than the 9mm but considering the differences, its worth it. __________________ Semper paratus.....virtute et armis |

All of the highway patrol and the game wardens swapped to .357 sig. The problem is they got the weapon and had to wait for the ammo. I talked to a warden yesterday and he said he has very little trigger time do to ammo availablity. That's the gov for you. |

Exactly...I remember when Obama was elected, and people went nuts buying firearms/ammo. That dipstick Bill Maher (spelling?) was laughing, saying that "these idiots...they're out of ammo in Oklahoma!". And I thought....uhhhh, no we're not...
I've never had a prob finding any widely used ammunition here. __________________ "Life's tough. It's tougher if you're stupid." -- John Wayne |

You're right, facts are facts, and it sounds like you've got yours mixed up.
As far as .357 Sig goes, as others have said, it's more expensive but easy to find. I don't have one as of yet, but I would like to pick up a Glock 32 at some point. The .357 Sig is a pretty awesome little round.

Bones, there's nothing wrong with 9mm but if you want to step up in power don't forget the .40S&W which is very easy to find and cheaper than .357Sig. Also the Glock 32 and 23 are twins except for the barrel. If you buy the other barrel you can have both calibers in one gun just by swapping barrels, even the magazines work with both calibers. __________________ US Army 1966-69, VFW Life Member, Retired Geek |

I'm not going to argue the merits of the .357 Sig vs the 9mm
since everyone has their own opinion. I have found that the
.357 Sig is slightly more expensive than the 9mm, but I have
never had a problem finding it. SGammo.com is a good place
to look. __________________ NRA Life Member / Vietnam Vet
