I had a 34 that I shot IDPA with. I put a fiber optic front sight on it a changed the rear to straight black. I put Vickers mag base plates on all 6 mags. I had a 3.5 connector put in and a different spring but then had light strikes and changed it back. It was a decent shooter and served the IDPA purpose well.

I moved it off because it just didn't fit my hand well. I switched to the HK P30L. This gun has a long slide (not as long as the 34 but long enough to be good for accuracy) and it fits the hand better than anything. I'll keep it cocked and locked (like a 1911) for light trigger pull which is nice in IDPA.

Unfortunately, I bought mine from CTD before the scare and price hike ups. I think I paid $109 for the barrel. I almost bought the 6 port barrel, but decided not too!

I have a G34 gen 4 that I have yet to get out and shoot that I bought in early Nov . Its killing me to shoot it . Trigger feels good for what it is , I like the extended slide release , I like the adjustable rear sights , I wouldnt mind having a fiber sight up front . I have been thinking about a XDM 9 competition as Im a Springfield fan and I like the trigger on it a bit better .

If you are going to own a 34 you just as well get a 35. We don't know what ammo manufacturers are going to do tomorrow. You just as well pick a caliber and stick with it.

I almost bought the XDM Competition 45 at a gun show, but they didn't accept credit cards. So I went to this other table and bought my G35.. That XDM was a sweet firearm though!!
