Holy Hell! I would have beat that guy to within an inch of his life later on after drill. That is ONE LUCKY DUDE!

My thoughts exactly.

We can all see the humor in this since they guy is apparently safe, but still very serious. That guy needs to go play the lottery something with that kind of luck.

Later that evening back at the barrcks, Francois borrowed the jack handle from his Sgt's Citroen, and went to visit with his good friend Yves, who always stood in the rank behind Francois.......

What the video failed to reveal is that 5 seconds later the entire platoon surrendered to the NDer...

I doubt they were using live ammo for a salute (or whatever they were doing). I think the muzzle blast from a blank would still be enough to knock a beret off. Either way, that guy sure kept his composure.
