"The TSA seemed to assert in a statement to ABC News that the agent was being professional, not playful."

Uh, yeah, right.

"Accidentally" shot FIVE fellow agents?!

They do make some interesting looking pepper spray devices. I doubt it was a standard canister type... I hope, anyway.

Regardless, if they don't know what it is, they shouldn't be pushing buttons/switches/etc. Leave it the hell alone and call someone with a brain. I mean what if it had been some kind of explosive device and these clowns are over in the corner pushing buttons on the damn thing because they don't know what it is?

I know that's not what happened, im just saying. To be in that type of position, you should have to go through some serious training. Not just watch a 30 minute orientation video. (I have no idea what kind of training they go through, but it is obviously not enough.)

Absolutely agree.
You wanna know the only place I've ever seen openings at the TSA listed?
The unemployment office. The people who couldn't cut it at McDonald's are 'guaranteeing' your safety. Lmfao

The following story is true . The names are not included because I don't know them .
I do know of an incident that took place way back when private security guards did the airport screening : A guard found a small black plastic box with a button on the top . The X-ray showed wiring and a battery inside the box .
The guards asked what the device was but the man who had it in his suitcase gave confusing answers, " It says stupid things...it is supposed to be funny... You can throw it away..."
Pressed for a better explanation, the embarrassed suspect said, " Press the button ".
" No . You press the button ", countered a guard .
" Okay", agreed the suspect reluctantly .
He pressed the button and the box spoke in a smart-alecky voice, " You're an as***** " .
The guards burst out laughing and let the suspect keep his novelty item . To avoid further trouble, he gave the device away before his flight home .
