There is NO SUCH THING AS AN UNLOADED WEAPON.

NEVER EVER. If someone points a gun at me they will find out just how pissed off I am.
A good friend shot himself while cleaning an empty gun, lucky for him it when through his leg with no major damage.
A fool I worked with many years ago pointed and fired a black powder rifle at a fellow employee, I think he is still healing from the beating that he received. |

Every now and then someone, either at a show or the local shop will inadvertently "swipe" a muzzle that has an angle that would be w/in ~10-15 deg. of me and it still gives me the willies, even knowing it probably isn't loaded.
I've lost shooting partners over "bad habits". Some things you only get 1 chance with. . . |

there have been incidents at gunshows with unloaded guns going off. the local gunshows here require all guns coming in to have a zip tie through the action.
i too get nervous at the tables when some ass starts sweeping the crowd. __________________ "Gun control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound." — L. Just a few weeks ago in Indianapolis.... biggest gun show in the state.... vendor was showing a customer how to take apart his pistol, had to pull the trigger to disassemble the gun, and he still had a round in the chamber. The vendor shot himself in the hand.

No.
It goes against my basic training when I was a child. And mistakes would sometimes land a sharp smack upside the head from Dad.
Never point any weapon at anything you do not intend to kill.
Unless you are in a hot zone, or in strict training scenario's where it is known safe.
I try to get the point across that the front of a weapon is the death zone.
Things like laser tag and paintball has really dumbed down people who are already challenged about common sense. |
