I operated a 155mm Howizter does that count?

PS: When I was in Joint Acquistions and those guys thought they where smarter than the engineers because they had the sexy patches. (which I admit stand for a lot of accomplishment, props) One of their SF O-3's embarassed himself by arguing with my Commander, a full Colonel, and an Engineering PhD in that exact subject they were arguing about., this was when all this "Operators" knowledge was based on a 10 day Oak Ridge intro to this subject.

He didnt even realize he was embrassing himself so full was he of "confidence".

An operator is a person is actively involved in the functional operation of a military or police unit special operations unit. It can be Rangers, Seals, Delta,or in the civilian world a SWAT Team Member. All of which have my up-most respect for the specialty jobs they do. For example of SWAT once an officer is assigned to the Command Center of SWAT from Entry or Sniper or Observer they are no longer considered and operator if that explains it better.

We normally do not.
What did you teach the military?

Absolutely,, my longtime buddy is a senior cheif with team ten here on the west coast, and with being an. "OPERATOR" he says he owes his life,( more than once.) To the ac 130 gunship operators. Once dropping 50 mic mic grenades less then fifty feet from his position enabling him to drag a down team member and himself to saftey. He was later awarded the Silver Star for his actions that night, and when asked he very quickly and humbly switches the credit to those boyz in the black sky that night.( AC-130 pilot and crew were also decorated for their actions that night) Thanx to those men the man my children call " uncle " is with us today.

Your probably right,, I just know the gunships crew initially refused to fire that particular round that close to friendlies, but circumstances made it the only option. They must be damn good shots,, lol

Here's a good (short film) of Spectre operators working the Taliban.

Check out the DA who jumps the fence.
