I always have a knife. I have a good walking stick too form before my back surgery, but hardly every have it with me, but I do know a few ways to use it in a pinch.

As a Chief Petty Officer I can have a Cutlass in dress uniform. I've thought about actually getting some lessons in old fashioned cutlass use. I could have onne in my office, know how to use it and now one would bat an eye about it being in my work place. We do drills on active shooters in the hospital, where I can't carry a gun. I bet some folks would actually be taken aback by an effective use of a close quarters weapon, such as that. Some people who have faced gun fire squirm at the possibilites of what could happen from a knife or sword. I still wouldn't want to face someone with a gun with only a blade in hand, butbetter than nothing I suppose.

Them dang cutlasses are not cheap either. Last I saw they are about $400 just for the cutlass not all the other stuff you need to properly wear it in dress uniform. I used to mess with the Cadets at West Point all the time because the sabers they have are just dress sabers that have no edge that cost about $350 I used to ask them to butter my bagel from Highland Falls market with it.

A knife for up close and OC spray for distance. Probably an Uzi tactical pen as well. That's 3 weapons.

Don Herbert. AKA Mr Wizard, was the science advisor for the old MacGyver tv series. He mas the guy who made Mac look smart. If threatened, I will channel his spirt and build a weapon from the junk around me.

Seriously, I keep a locking folder, a Leatherman Side Kick, and my keys on me in addition to my PDW. If I am in my truck, I also have the following at my disposal: An Estwing Axe, A gerber Gatorback Machete, an E-Tool, A short spade, a bow saw, tire changing tools, 2 canes, and a 3 foot long piece of 2 inch wooden dowel. It would take me longer to decide on what to use as a weapon than it would for me to grab it and bring it into play. And I almost forgot, I also have a "bung Wrench" in the cab of the truck as well.

Personally, i would prefer to use my 1911 over the other choices. It is the easiest one to get to. That being said, if I could not carry a gun, I think I pretty much have it covered.

Nothing. This might come as a shock but lots of people don't feel the need to carry anything for self defence.

I eat beans with lots of hot sauce before I go out. That way I can spew fireballs out of my arse.
