My apologies. I misread your initial post.

Viking. I am 230 pounds, 5 foot 8, and I am missing half a foot. When I am out I use a cane for obvious reasons, and to me that is weapon #2. Weapon #1 is situational awareness, combined with a lifetime of training from a Marine Corps lifer who holds 2 black belts. trust me, I look like an easy mark, but those who have tried learned otherwise. Anything is a weapon if used right, but it is much better to keep myself and my family out of these situations in the first place.

What was meant by my post is this. If it is one threat by a single person, I WILL try a non-violent option first if it is just me or with my family. More than one, Get my family out of the hot zone, and pull the pistol to provide cover for me\us while retreating to my vehicle\safety. If it is a blindside type pf attack, I may not have time to go for the pistol, and that is when 2 things happen:

1. I use anything I have in my hands, fingers, teeth, car keys, cane, booted feet, etc to make an exit.
2. While leaving by said exit, the pistol will be put into play, and my next action will depend on the goblin's next actions.

I only carry a rifle or shotgun on me and loaded while out hunting, or target shooting. The reason I said the pistol is the weapon of last resort is this. If things have digressed to the point that I need to unholster and possibly take someone's life, I have made at least one mistake somewhere along the path to that moment. My goal is to never have to participate in a gun fight unless there is NO other option. Nobody wins a gun fight, you can only survive one.

Hope this clears up the confusion caused by my previous post.

THIS! There are certainly brighter lights with longer run times, but the mag out-clubs them all.

No problem. I reread it myself, and saw where it could cause some confusion as well.
