So, after all of this input I have concluded that it would be best to kill all participants in the assault, including the recipient, just to be sure you aren't targeting the "real victim" and letting the "real assailant" off the hook.

If there are no survivors you have no witnesses against you!

I would be sorry to say all i can do is watch until the police get there. but if my life was threatened and i was attacked by a gang it would be different i i am responsible for my own safety and life but for others i would save myself first if i had kids or a wife getting beat or raped or it was my family then then yes i would take on th full burden. but for a stranger im not so sure the police can handle that at least i can say i tried to help. what would you do?
basicly what you said. i wouldnt draw my gun untill it was needed call the leos let them know the situation give them a description of the perps however from what i have been taught and i will quote here" if you believe that your life or the lives of others are in immediate danger you can draw your weapon and do what is necessary to protect yourself and others"

In my state lethal force is justified to protect any other person from the same assaults that im justified to use lethal force to protect myself-- if i was in the innocent/helpless persons position would i draw my weapon?--- i think i would...
