Default Gun Vault

Anyone have these? Is the bio-metric worth the extra over the regular "No Eyes"? I am looking for a quick access lock box for my HD handgun. I have young kids and a wife who is not into guns at all (I've tried but her views are not going to change), so they need to be locked up.

The advantage of the print reader (biometric) over the pinky-index-ring-ring type lock is not forgetting the combo under stress. Disadvantages I wonder about- if my right hand is injured, will it read the left? Will it read more than one person? What effect would a bandaid on my finger have?

All good points C3. I do know that the biometric ones can be programmed for something like 30 users, I would assume ( I don't like that word) that a user could program all their fingers to open it if they wanted to. I can get them pretty cheap via an industry discount, but I want to knwo if people like them before I plunk down my dough.

I dont have the finger print reader type. But I do have the one with the four buttons on top. I have it bolted to the floor of my Blazer under the drivers seat. Only problem I have is if my radio is on I can not hear the beep noise to know if I pushed hard enough on the button. Other than that, I really like mine. I think I would like the finger print reader even better.

I am no fried of biometric`s. Specially not on firearms oder firearm security.

There are plenty of videos on the internet with detailled instructions, how to fake prints with normal household goods.
Also, in my humble opinion, by using the biometric security devices, no matter what type, you give the gungrabbers further ideas, how to complicate gun ownership.
This is happening here in germany, where the discussion is taking place, if biometric securred rods should be mandatory to be put in the barell of the firearms when not in use.
By buying the biometric crap, you give the the ideas and the hint, that you could be comfortable with such additional security (that is only fake security) devices.
