A graphic must read for all!
Please don't be the next person something like this happens to. Learn from this guy!

That sucks. I check and recheck my firearm when handling it to make sure it's not reloaded. So much so it borders on OCD probably.

Trigger and muzzle discipline are the best safeties.

Dear god, what an unfortunate mistake! It really shows that even life-saving safety can become routine. Always practice and actively use gun safety.

Talked to this guy he is a member over at He is damn lucky that he acted so quickly or he could have died in his gun room that evening.

that completly sucks...

I've spent some time going over his site & the fourm he put up..

definatly interesting, esp considering the medical issues.

I'm glad he put up the site, hearing from a freind of a freind or reading online is one thing.
but read his writing and look at the pics of his leg...definatly drive the message home.

My uncle, who is in LE, shot two of his toes off. He was putting a different stock on his shotgun at the time. He was outside sitting on concrete, so he rested the barrel on the tip of his shoe to keep from damaging it. Somehow the gun went off, removing the two toes to the right of his big toe. Not only did he catch quite a bit of grief from his co-workers, but he had to go through lots of therapy to learn to walk correctly.

Also, one of my former employees was in his bedroom with a pistol while his son was sitting on the bed. I forget exactly what happened, but I think we was trying to clear his pistol, and it went off. He wound up killing his young son. He was always a little different type of person, bit now act extremely odd from what I hear. I cannot say I wouldn't be the biggest nut job on the planet if it had happened to me. It was very sobering going to visit him in the hospital while his son was in ICU. The utter devastation his family was going through is something I will never forget.

Saw this one another forum... I've read several stories where people get into a habit and then they ND and it completely shocks them becuse they were just in their "thing"...

I remember someone blew apart a laptop because he forgot to drop the mag and was in his routine.
