Default Girard, KS man shot

Kind of sloppy reporting and funny in that the report says the man was shot "in his garden".
The people practicing were using a sheet of plywood against a bale of hay while shooting a .40 cal. Man was approximately 1/2 mile away when he was hit.

From the report (NOT that a reporter is EVER less than accurate- Heaven's forbid!) the shooters MISSED the backstop- and no one said how much LESS than a half mile- only less than a half mile. For .40 to still have velocity to go thru BOTH legs at 880 yards, I would be asking what kind of rifle they were shooting. The odds heavily favor being MUCH less than a half mile.

Why do I say that? Well, if you had a .40 S&W, zeroed at ONE HUNDRED YARDS- at 500 yards, the drop is roughly 41 FEET below the line of sight. Or, as Mr. Spock would say, "That is not logical, Captain."
