i dry fire my ak's after a complete tear down of all parts to make sure there is not trigger issues,, no way in hell that would ever hurt the ak, given the way of its design

now my Remington 700,,, still dont think it would ever hurt it but i just hold the trigger on an empty chamber and set the bolt down slow

i never leave any weapon under any spring tension when its not necessary
even my carry pistol (HK P-30) has a decocker so that is never an issue
