My dad has this beretta .380 compact and while the grip is kind of small, he's cut himself on the slide 3 times that I know of, 2x while I was there.

I've shot it tons of times fine. So I make a joke about the pistol when he gives it to a friend of his to shoot. I turn around and finish loading my .45 and turn around and he's bleeding from the slide. =/

That's 4 times now, and all of them have shot plenty, I dunno what's going on, but it's a running joke now whenever we bring the gun along.

On the same note I can't hold the 1911 with a thumb on the safety because it's way to close to the slide for my comfort.

The side of the slide really isn't an issue. It is the rails along the back of the slide.

I wish my father-in-law was just bleeding. He was sliced way open.
