Default Defensive Handgun 1 class in Oregon

Oregon Firearms Academy LLC

8 Hour - Defensive Handgun 1 course. FULL AT THIS TIME
At the conclusion of this course you'll be at the same level of training as graduates of the Oregon DPSST Police Academy!

Toward the end of the course you'll be able to assess your skills by completing several Oregon DPSST Police Handgun Qualification Courses of Fire (i.e. the Qualifier) which Oregon Law Enforcement Officers must complete every six months in order to carry a handgun.

During the course you'll be introduced to the following skills:
  • Safety Review & ERP
  • Four Point Presentation from the Holster i.e. 'the draw'
  • Marksmanship
  • Combat Reloads
  • The Ready Position
  • After Action Response
  • Effective Verbalization
  • Tactical Reloads
  • Singled Handed Fighting with a Handgun
  • Close Quarters Fighting
  • Introduction to the Use of Cover & Concealment
  • Speed Kneeling Options
  • Clearing Phase One Malfunctions
  • Clearing Phase Two Malfunction
  • The Oregon DPSST Qualifer
