If you're shooting with a partner, have them load a round and make the weapon hot for you while you're not looking. Have them switch between live round and snap cap every so often. You'll never know which one is loaded when you squeeze to fire. When its loaded with a snap cap your flinch will become noticably apparent and you can see how you anticipate the shot breaking. That will seriously help you correct it. Can't remember where I learned that but it really helped me.

The drill referred to above is called " Ball and Dummy " . You can have someone mix dummy rounds with live ones in your magazine or cylinder as well as loading the chamber with snap caps .

They call it " Ball and Dummy " because military FMJ is referred to as "ball ammo " , conical bullets having retained the nickname used for spherical bullets . Early shooters did not have conical bullets but they had a lot of balls .
