what kind of paint to use on my ruger Sr22 slide?

I would like to paint my Sr22 slide a dark blue color or like a blood red. what kid of paint works on these slides and will stay with a good finish?

Rustoleum. It's like hot sauce, good on everything.
I'm kidding, hell I don't know, never painted a gun, sorry.
Marlinman can help you out.

My husband used nail polish with a really thin paintbrush. He used silver as a base because his gun is black and then put lime green on top. I have an SR 22 and want him to do mine.

Ever hear of cerakote? It's a very similar formula to ceramic based header paint used on engines. Look into it.

If you use nail polish, make sure you use non acetone polish remover if you mess up.

Rustoleom works. Duracoat and cerakoat works. Are you wanting to paint the whole slide or just the lettering?

For the fun of it, I've tried Krylon on a .22lr revolver.

Cleaned the thing thoroughly, then followed the directions on the can

So far, no chipping, cracking, or flaking.
