Picked up a cheap Yugo SKS from a friend and I had some extra time on my hands. After removing the stock and sanding it down, I used some camo spray paint to give it a custom look.

Looks good. Just got a WASR10 on Friday and about 20 minutes ago i pulled all the wood off and im gonna start sanding it tomorrow. And will be staining it a red mahogany as soon as im done sanding it. Hopfully tomorrow at work i will have time to sand it.
Nice, I did the same to my WASR, but used a Minwax stain in Sedona Red.......turned out nice. Use care when removing the wooden upper hand guard as the wood is quite thin; I ended up splitting mine and had to get a replacement. You could always leave it in place and just tape it off. I'll post some pics.
