I can't remember the cost, but I know it cost much more than that. At that point in time, it was a range gun so I had fiber optics installed.

So...just from judging by our conversation here, since no one else wants to jump in...

This local guy does good work at a good price. But he's still a turd IMO. From what I've told you about him, would you do business with him?

I wouldn't use the guy.

I'm not pimping Novak's by any means, but they'll blue a 1911 for $145. Of course there's shipping charges. But I'm sure they'll do a better job than the semi-shady guy. They also do complete packages, sights and I'm sure they'll install a beavertail and commander hammer. http://www.novaksights.com/customguns/index.html

Oh yeah, anything can be done yourself. I know how to cut a dove tail for sights, and I can blue a gun. But I have no real experience.
