Just last night I used the Birchwood Casey, paste blueing kit, it has a
very good Blueing and Rust Remover in it.

most anything that dissolves rust will remove bluing.

Besides products sold as bluing remover, anything with phosphoric acid in it will take bluing off in a moment. Try Naval Jelly from the hardware store.

Not navel jelly, which indicates realy poor hygiene...............

oxyalic acid better know as DAP wood bleach should get the job done, found at your local hardware store , its a great rust remover on steel , no fumes and very mild to the skin if you do get some on you but please wear gloves and the proper safety equip . I have had to remove some rust of of steel tubing , I put a 2# container in a 55 gal drum full of water , stired well after mixed and then put the steel in and let sit for about 12 hrs , pull out and the rust literally wipes off , this should go for the bluing also
