Pine Tar Application on Laminate Wood

4 Attachment(s)
This is a 50/50 pine tar and turpentine mix first, followed by shellac mixed with dye, etc.

Pine tar gives the laminate wood that warm, glowing look. The shellac is used as a top coat, once the pine tar/turpentine mix dries.

Well what do you know? I was prepared to not like it because I thought it would be ugly, but I am very impressed and like it a lot! ;)

Really nice work! :cool:

Noobster, that may very well be the best looking AK on this forum.

I mean that.

I made the mistake of taking my AK to a tupperware party and have found a new liking for wood. You just might have taught this old dog a new trick.

I'm re-thinkin' the tupperware;

Did you happen to take some photos of this refinish?

I'd love to see a how-to DIY thread.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I did not do a step by step. However, I really need to. :)
