DefaultOld stevens 12ga gets a make over.

Hey guys recently picked up this old 12ga for the express purpose of refinishing it and trying my hand at all this stuff. Anyways took only 2 days and maybe 6-8 hours worth of work. I used Minwax for all the wood used the pre-coat then finished with the ebony followed by 4 coats of the (poly?) clear coat. For the metal parts I simply used 3 coats of OD green flat rustoleum, I got some clear gloss finish but ended up not using it cause I like the flat look. Anyways enough talk time for some pics.

That looks nice, I recently picked up a similar Savage with a busted stock and just started on building a new one. I'm thinking about parkerizing mine with a kit I bought to refinish my 03-A3 it worked great. who knows I might even cut it down and make it tactical

Please don't tell me that you spray painted it

Looks good. My dad has the same thing, and is restoring the furniture. He did it once, but he did it too light. Hopefully this time he can get a darker stain on it and make it look better.

the wood looks nice and the OD green is a good match! My NEF 12ga has a nice looking finish but it scratches VERY easily, I'm thinking about maybe re-doing it myself..
