Default M70 rebuild

Hi all! I don't know how many people owned this rifle before I got it, but it was pretty much trashed when I did!.
This is the original stock(inside) when I first took it apart.

,

The barell channel was filled in with fiber glass resin and it looked like someone tried to bed the recoil lug with bondo and most of it was broke out! and with the external damage I decided to restock it. I got a Boyd's thumbhole in a pepper laminate pillar bedded the recoil lug area, and refinished it! This is before.

,

and this is the new stock!

,

Just a little different! I was going to try the range today, but it's raining!
So maybe tomorrow! Doug

Much better... Nice job with the Boyd's stock. Was it a drop in other than the pillar job or did you have to do some fitting?
