Default Ion Bond DLC questions

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about getting my Colt Rail gun ion bonded. It's my all purpose gun and I'd like to have a super durable finish on it.

So here's a few questions, should the barrel be ion bonded? Can it hurt accuracy?

Colt provides ion bond refinishing services, for $550 which is almost twice as much as some places. Which places would you recommend that do a great job at blasting the old finish off, polishing and applying a consistent looking coating? I'm hearing a lot of success stories and horror stories regarding that finish, I'm pretty sure the horror stories are due to a poor prep job.

What do you guys think of Melonite and Hard Hat (best looking in my opinion).

Thanks!
