I would like to jewel my barrel on my 597, and make a unique peice..
Ive been researching and trying to find the best way to get the blue off so i can polish and then jewel it.
What tips would use/ give me for removing blue/polishing. Is bacially my question.

i have never jeweled a barrel or anything else but thinking if its not pitted just do it on top of the blue would save on dye pls let me know the fault in my thinking
If you are going to jewel it, that process will remove the bluing. there are many blue removers. Most hardware stores carry navel jelly. Anything that removes rust will remove blue.
